Ta' Turu Store is a French creperie and champagne bar, primarily serving (savoury) galettes and (sweet) crepes, as well as excellent coffee, matcha, French cider. We are seeking a part-time or full-time chef who can • make and plate our complex crepes (an esthetic eye is crucial; prior experience making crepes is not required for a candidate with several years of professional chef experience, but would be a plus), • make other dishes - omelettes, salads, etc and potentially expand into a broader French evening menu, • interact with guests, • maintain the highest hygiene and health and safety standards Prior experience making crepes or native/fully fluent French would significantly differentiate you as a candidate. Compensation will include significant allocation of tronc in addition to the hourly rate (an additional £2-4 per hour on average) We are a small place with an open kitchen so an ability to interact with guests and multi-tasking are essential, so is the ability to work in a small team. For the right person this would be an opportunity to significantly influence the place and how it develops (e.g. into dinner service). In an ideal world you’ll be great at making beautiful and tasty crepes AND excellent barista-level coffee, but that’s not a requirement as that is only needed for a couple of less busy shifts.
